Currently over 16.5% of Washington County residents - approximately 84,000 people - have no medical insurance. Estimates indicate that in three years, this number will rise to 140,000. Essential Health Clinic provides urgent care for approximately 4,600 patients per year in addition to hundreds who receive medical advice or referrals to social services and medical specialists. Our patients are ethnically diverse; many are working low-income that cannot afford insurance premiums.
